Janie surprises me with her vocabulary every day. This afternoon, she asked for “fruta” (fruit in Spanish) and also tried to say “por favor” (please in Spanish).
Snacking at the kitchen counter is her thing nowadays. Stone fruits are in season right now and she’s loving it.
Here’s a video of her snacking and talking. She’s mixing three languages in this video: English, Spanish, and Thai, which is typical of our daily conversations. I’m amazed at how flexible she is in her thinking. In the middle of the video, I asked “what’s that?” in Thai and she answered “nam” (water in Thai). Then she says “no nom” (no in English and milk in Thai). Then I asked “what are you eating?” in Spanish and she answered me in Spanish.
