On our way to the lake, we stopped at Raley’s for some supplies/food. Janie stayed in the minivan and ended up falling asleep on the ride over to Camp Richardson Beach.
She got just enough sleep in to last the rest of the afternoon.
At the beach, we found a shady spot ad Janie spent the first half hour making “soup” and her version of sand castles.
She wasn’t scared of the water but it took some time for her to get her feet wet.
However, once she got comfortable, she was obsessed. At one point, she had wandered off on her own when she thought it was time to get some more water for her bucket.
She ate lunch under the trees while Daddy barbequed. It was just enough for her to regain her energy for more time in the water.
By the end of the afternoon, she was walking into the water on her own without shoes on and almost willing to go down to the rocks.. She loved stomping, kicking, and throwing the water and sand.
When it was time to go, I had to drag her out the water in order to pack up quick enough to beat the incoming storm that we could see in the near distance. I’d say that was a really fun day at the beach for Little Janie.
