This is one of the kids’ favorite things to do this year. Making s’mores in the backyard is so fun and convenient!! We can’t wait to go camping again one day but until then, this will do.
Schedule
The kids came up with a schedule for today complete with illustrations.
Laundry Crew
It’s like the family leveled up once the kids were able to fold their own clothes. They even kept track of the orphan socks and reunited 2 out of 3 by the end.
Chores?
Peanut made up his own list of “chores”:
- Wake up
- Clean room
- Play with plus-pluses
- Eat
- Clear table
- Play “Lions”
Scrambled Eggs
While staying at Ankong and Ama’s house, Janie has been making scrambled eggs for breakfast almost everyday. She looks so grown up in this photo.
Car Snack
This morning, Peanut insisted that I go to the store to buy the following things: apples, grapes, and peanut butter. He said he wanted to make the cars he saw on a video.
So he made his own video. Woudn’t it be great to be able to make millions off this kid?!
I cut up the apple and set up the materials and he went to work all on his own.
He said “See Mama, it’s a car snack!” So cute.
Free Kitchen
During our bike ride, we passed by this IKEA kitchen that was left on the sidewalk with a sign that said “FREE”. It’s a kitchen that we had seen so many times but never bought. The kids (and Mama) wanted it so once we got back to the house, Mama drove the van over and picked it up. It was in perfect condition with all the utensils and pretend food inside. After it was disinfected, we brought it into the house and the kids started playing right away.
Later that evening, Peanut continued to play and prepared Mama a special meal.
Look! He even make avocado toast!
Banana Nut Chocolate Chip Muffins
Peanut helped Mama make some banana nut muffins. We had some chocolate chips leftover so we threw those in too. They were a hit and Janie ate 4 that evening all on her own.
Remote Supervision
Mama supervised the kids folding laundry today from her office at work.
More Inside Activities
Peanut helped Dada make salad today. He’s becoming quite the little helper lately.
Then we had dinner with Ankong, Ama, Toni, Thomas, Auntie Jia, and Uncle Jason over Zoom.
We had another family game night after dinner and played “SORRY!” This is how we spend our crazy Friday nights now. 🙂
