Watch us grow!
Peanut had his first piano recital today. He played an Irish folk tune called “The Galway Piper” and did a great job despite the nerves.
Here’s a video of Peanut when he was just 17 months old playing on Mama’s old piano that he now has in his bedroom. He’s come a long way!
We went to Knott’s today and the kids had a blast.
One of their favorite rides is Sierra Sidewinder. It’s a fast rollercoaster that is part of Camp Snoopy and allows kids under 48″ to ride!
Unfortunately, all the other fast rides do have a height requirement and Peanut is not quite there yet.
It was a pretty hot day too so we went on the log ride. It was the kids’ first time and they enjoyed it with the exception for the creepy fake people inside.

Now that summer is in full swing, we’ve gotten into a routine. The kids do workbooks in the morning and then get to play the rest of the day.
We also added swim lessons for Peanut at Waterworks in Huntington Beach. It’s a 20-min lesson with just one other kid and he gets to hang on his teacher’s back while the other child is swimming.
This afternoon, we walked to the playground in the community.
Mama bought a bunch of workbooks for the kids to help them get caught up. It’s nice to see them get to work in the mornings.
While Mama went back to work, the kids got some worksheets done in the morning while Dada and Uncle Johnny did some work.
In the afternoon, they met up with Auntie Jia for a little Camp Snoopy at Knott’s. Since we were going to live so close to the park, we got a season pass for the whole family and it’s already getting some use!
We made it! The year of Zoom, Google Classroom, crazy schedules, 2-hour classroom instruction, and masks is over. Hellooooooo Summer!
We had an impromptu belt test for Peanut today. He went to his last class and Sifu knew we were moving so he tested him early (and didn’t charge the usual fee!)
All I wanted was for him to test and pass without the green belt given to him but Sifu Sam insisted on the full test and ceremony. We will miss this place and all the sifus there.
We also recreated a photo that we took 3 years ago when they first started.
Look how cute they were back in 2018!
After 3 years, this girl will check in for the last time at Aquatech. She has not only overcome her fear of the water but learned all 4 strokes with confidence and excellent form. It’s good to know that all the time and money that we’ve spent here paid off.
They always replay the 2012 Olympics at Aquatech and this is the first time KK was really into watching the races.
