After a nice long weekend celebrating Mama’s birthday, we headed back home on our trusty Southwest flight from Long Beach to Oakland.
Fancy Dinner
This evening, we went out for a fancy dinner at Five Crowns with the family to celebrate Mama and Uncle Johnny’s birthday. It was our first real dining experience in a long time.
They seated us at a big round table together under a patio cover and the kids enjoyed the activity sheets they were given.
It was a nice dinner at a restaurant with family after being home for so long.

Haunted Cookie House
The kids worked together to build and decorate this haunted house.
Here it is in all its icing and candy glory.
Peanut and Thomas worked on their drawing of the house together too.
New Glasses
Peanut’s blue-light glasses arrived!

Another flight!
Here we go again! Heading back down to Cerritos again this month to celebrate Mama and Uncle Johnny’s birthdays this time.
Mama’s Birthday
Today is Mama’s birthday and since she took the day off, we drove to San Francisco after Zoom classes were done. We went to the Ferry Plaza and found it deserted.
They had outdoor tables for us to sit and wait for our table at Hog Island Oyster Co.
Janie drew a cute picture while we waited.
It was fun eating at Hog Island again after so many months. They had tables spaced out nicely and the food was just as good as we remembered.
Peanut enjoyed eating his clams. He also managed to entertain himself with the empty shells too
No trip to the Ferry Plaza is complete without soft serve from Gott’s. It was nice to be back in our old hang out spot but we were sad to see how the pandemic has really turned off the hustle and bustle of the city.
Kung Fu again!
We had nothing to do today so we went back again for another round of lessons. We have months of make-ups so why not?!
Here’s Janie getting a private lesson bc she’s the only green belt in her class today.
Lego Builder
Peanut is showing interest in Legos suddenly and it was quite the confidence-booster when he built this plane on his own with just a little help from Mama to find certain pieces.
Watching him reminded Mama of how Uncle Johnny used to spend hours in his room building cool planes and other contraptions with Legos.
