It was warm and sunny in Santa Cruz today for the rehearsal and dinner so it was perfect weather for Janie to show off her yellow dress. She also didn’t need to wear socks!
Here she is with the blushing bride-to-be, her Auntie Teresa.
Watch us grow!

Today Janie turns 7 weeks old and we’re kicking it off with her first road trip! We’re headed to Santa Cruz right now for a wedding this weekend and hopefully it will be warm outside.
Janie is 7 weeks old today! She just finished her 6-week growth spurt and we’ve officially packed away the rest of her newborn clothes. She looks unhappy in this photo because she had a poopy diaper.
It looks like Janie woke up a new baby this morning and the growth spurt period is done. She was in a great mood today with very little fussing and her feeds went back to every 3 hours. Phew!
During Tummy Time this morning, Janie was on a more rigid surface and managed to get her head up the highest I’ve ever seen. She’s also strong enough to maintain that position and turn her head at the same time. Way to go!
By the way, aren’t these pjs the cutest?!
Her eyes are almost big enough to match her cheeks.
Little Janie loves the monkey dance but Daddy has a new trick now. We don’t need a swing or bouncer when The Daddy Ride has three modes: sailboat, horsie, and washing machine. Click here if you can’t view the video above.
It’s happening again. Our little girl is going through a feeding frenzy and has been a little more irritable. It’s the 6-week growth spurt!!! We hope it won’t last long.
Little Janie’s still not too sure about Uncle Jason. He sorta looks like Daddy but he’s so much bigger! I also like how Koa inserted himself into the photo. What a ham.
Here’s Uncle Jason holding Janie for the first time using the “cradle” or “football” hold. This was on Friday when he arrived.
Two days later, Uncle Jason advanced to the “over the shoulder” hold. Janie helped him out a bit by holding her head up and doing a one-arm push-up on his chest.
Lately I’ve been training Janie to hang out for 10 minutes by herself after she’s been fed and changed. That’s usually when she’s in the best mood and I get a chance to clean up and reset. When I checked on her today, I found her like this watching the mobile go round and round. Pretty cute, huh?
