This morning, we got up early to go to a free Golden Gate Mother’s Group Event at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. It started at 9am so we were out the door by 8:30 and Janie got to see the Golden Gate Bridge on the way over.
There was plenty to do there including lots of musical instruments scattered all around.

There was an old boat turned into a playground and Janie loved driving the boat.
Maybe one day Daddy can take her sailing in the bay.
The art area had a place where she could use different-colored tape to help build and decorate a cardboard airplane. She was in tape heaven.
The magnet table was also a fun station.
The event had lots of giveaways including stickers and cheddar bunnies. Janie played a plinko-type game at this table.
We measured her height at the tot area. She’s still small enough to go in. You have to be shorter than 42 inches to play.
There was a wind and water table that was a lot of fun. However, instead of making a boat, she just pretended to go fishing.
In another room, they had a giant train set. Janie’s really into tunnels right now. We drive through one every day afterschool (at Treasure Island) and she calls it the “white tunnel” because it has white lights inside.
They had an advertisement for the Curious George event that was happening later this month and she was so excited to see his picture.
One of the best things about museums like this is that stuff is in her size. She found this camping chair at the store and was happy to see a cup holder for her “nai-nai”.
The bathroom also had a toddler-sized toilet and sink. Mama’s lower back really appreciated that too.
What a fun morning! Janie must have had fun because she fell asleep in the car on our way home.
