For lunch, we went to The Pig and the Lady. The kids had some yummy pho and made paper airplanes.
After lunch, the kids all got candy canes. Peanut is bummed out because his was broken.
Watch us grow!

Today, we went to the California Academy of Sciences. We got a family membership so we could get Amelia and family in too. Amelia brought her backpack today since Janie had hers yesterday. So cute.
Janie also brought her camera and took lots of photos of the creatures. Peanut used his toy phone to copy her.
Peanut enjoyed seeing all the fish. He was barely able walk the last time he visited the museum.
I can still remember when it was SO hard to convince Janie to touch the creatures in the tide pool back she was Peanut’s age but now it’s no big deal.
It’s also fun to see how different Peanut is since it took him absolutely no convincing.
Before heading back to the East Bay, we all stopped for soft serve at the truck outside the museum.
For dinner, we took Auntie Amy for some tasty crab at Hang Ten Boiler.
At the end of the day, Peanut and Ellie gave each other hugs. They had a fun time together these past two days.
Our family from Vancouver is in town this weekend! Yay!
We met up with Auntie Amy, Uncle Jay, Amelia, and Ellie at the ferry and rode over to SF together!
For lunch, we went to Hog Island Oyster Co. It was super hot outside today.
The dads enjoyed some local beer in the shade while the kids ran around for a bit.
We went inside the Ferry Plaza to cool off and get some ice cream!!
The girls enjoyed chatting and exploring together. Love how it took them no time to warm up to each other. It was like we just saw them yesterday even though it was December when we last saw them in Hong Kong.
We tried to go to the playground but it was way too hot. So we spent some time in the shade at Justin Herman Plaza.
Next was a ride on Muni over to the mall. It was nice to be inside where it was a lot cooler.
At the mall, the kids played at the Lego store.
Then they took a bunch of rides up and down the spiral escalators with Dada.
For dinner, we walked to R&G Lounge so Auntie Amy could get some salt and pepper crab.
After dinner, we walked back to the ferry terminal and had a short ride back to Alameda. Peanut and Ellie shared some Cheetos while Amelia and Janie had some “alone time” at a separate table by the window.
We went to Mama’s work party tonight and everyone brought their kids. Janie and Sophie were back together again and they had a great time!
Check out these two chocolate smiles!
Peanut also got to socialize and hung out with his buddy Max who is 10 days older.
He got to hang out with Aunties Stephanie and Amy.
There was some snuggle time with MaryAnn, Sandy, and Holly too!!
This social little guy ate up all the attention.
Peanut, Henry, and Auntie Teresa also played on the couch for a while. SO many friends!
At the end of the night, the two big girls played a mean game of foosball with the Henry and Avia.
We also brought Janie’s PJs to put on for the ride home. What a fun party!
After school, Janie went to Lake Temescal to meet up with Mommy’s friends for a run.
Weeee!
After the run, she blowed bubbles while everyone did some exercises.
Then she tagged along for some yummy Indian food.
The next stop was Ici for ice cream and Janie shared her stroller with pal Henry.
She got her very own cone with coconut passionfruit sorbet. Yum!
Janie went to the annual BORP wheelchair basketball tournament with Mommy today.
It’s her 3rd time going and it’s fun to see how different she is each time we go. The photo above is Janie at 3 weeks and 13 months of age.
This year, she was pushing and steering the wheelchair around like a big kid.
She also hung out with her pal Vivian, who was really interested in all of her toys and crayons. I think they both had a big lesson in sharing this afternoon.
There was a garage sale just outside where Mommy bought a bunch of used toys for a real bargain.
It was so cute watching these two interact with each other.
Janie practiced her Spanish with Tia Patty and Little Henry seemed to recognize it too now that he’s at a Spanish-immersion day care. Can’t wait to see them talking to each other in Spanish in another year or so.
We also brought the scooter along since we knew there would be a wide-open blacktop for her to ride in circles to her heart’s content.
It looks like our kid is goofy foot (pushing with the left foot) and she’s mastered balancing on one leg on the scooter.
She also liked sitting in the stands with her snack during the games. Boy, she’s really not a baby anymore.
Afterward, we went out for a snack at the usual taco bar. She sat next to Vivian and shared her celery and carrots.
Janie also had two big spoonfuls of tomatillo salsa. This kid seems to be able to eat just about anything.
Janie joined us for an impromptu mini holiday party tonight and loved looking at the menu. Auntie T loved watching her and said that the first thing she pointed to was the BLT. That’s my girl!!!
She also had a good time playing with Auntie Amy’s iPhone and practiced her texting skillz.
