While I was making dinner, Janie had a bowl of tomatoes that she was snacking on.
Little did I know that she was not eating them but using them to make “tomato soup” in a bottle.
She was so proud and said “mira (look) mama, soup!”
Watch us grow!

She sounded and looked like a cooking show today while she played with her tea set. We don’t even have Food Network here at home! Where does she get this?!
You can also see a little bit of her mischievous side in this video. She knows she’s not supposed to play with her milk but she does it anyway with a sneaky smile on her face.
Janie woke up feeling better today but still had a dry cough. No runny nose yet! After breakfast, we took a trip to Trader Joe’s and she got a long strip of stickers from the grocer.
By the time we got to the car, she had all off them stuck to her shirt.
After a long nap, she did some coloring in the Frozen coloring book we found at Walgreens.
Before bed, she got a nice long bubble bath to moisten her airway. She made little cakes today.
Mommy brought home the chef’s hat and apron from her cake-decorating activity last week and Janie fell in love with the set as soon as Mommy tied the apron on. She was so excited to start cooking. The hat was a little big so we had to put a smaller hat underneath to keep it from sliding over her eyes.
Here she is rolling a meatball.
Now she’s cracking an egg into the bowl.
And of course, you gave to beat the egg too.
It later evolved into making “soup rice”.
And then she needed to add some tea and tomatoes.
Can you spot Janie?!
Janie is feeling much better this morning so we went out to the Farmers’ Market. It’s been at least a month since we had gone.
While we waited for Daddy to meet us there, Janie watched the ferry boats come and go.
She also listened to a band play out front. She had this interested yet confused look on her face.
For lunch, we went to Hog Island for some oysters and clam chowder. Janie still likes raw oysters and she loves to prepare them probably more than eat them.
Here’s a video of how serious she is with the mignonette and lemon juice.
She had some of our clam chowder and was pretty amused by the empty clams that she can open and close with her fingers.
It was high-tide on our ways home. She thought the waves and splashing water was fun to watch.
Riding Daddy’s shoulders was fun too!
At our next stop, Janie entertained herselft with Big GG. She is showing Big GG a drawing that Mommy made of him.
Crayons are always a hit at restaurants and her new Sesame Street pals were fun too.
We accidentally left Bert at home and she noticed right away and kept asking, “Where’s Bert?”
Janie seems to really like cooking and tea parties. Today while Mommy was watching Top Chef, she was imitating the chopping that the chefs were doing on TV.
This evening, Janie did a little cooking in her mini kitchen.
Are you tired of seeing photos of Janie having tea parties yet?! Well, she certainly hasn’t gotten tired of having them!!
We were outside grilling some chicken and Janie got to have a tea party with water again.
And thanks for handing down the cute jacket, Auntie Ranee and Sophie!
Here’s some raw footage of Janie at play with her tea set, balls, and stuffed animals. Ever since we made pizza, she’s been obsessed with cooking.
Janie had her first real cooking activity today and helped make pizza for lunch with Mommy. We took a video of the process and I edited it to a shorter length for viewing.
She was a pretty good helper until her favorite toppings came into play.
She had lots of fun and enjoyed the pizza when it was all done.
Here’s a follow-up video a few days later (7/12/14) of her reenacting the cooking activity with her tea set. She also wanted to wear her bib as an apron.
