This morning, Peanut and Mama met up with Henry and Auntie Teresa for breakfast at the Ferry Plaza. Henry grubbed on toast and eggs while Peanut snoozed. We also took a short walk in the morning sun before they had to head back across the bay.
Morning at Henry’s
Peanut spent the morning at Henry and Auntie Teresa’s house while Mama was doing something for work. He played on the floor with Henry for a bit and then fell asleep.
He napped in Henry’s crib for a bit before waking up hungry. He was such a good boy for Auntie Teresa and Mama was back by lunch.
Morning Visitors
Auntie Teresa and Henry came over this morning to visit Peanut.
He was wide awake but Henry was not so sure of him.
Waffle and Sand Date
This morning, Henry and Auntie Teresa came over for breakfast.
The kids shared a table and a waffle together.
Afterward, we walked to the playground by AT&T Park.
Janie shared her sand toys with Henry and they did some major scooping and dumping.
What a fun morning!!
Backyard Party
This afternoon, Janie attended a going-away party for Uncle Chris. He works with Mama and will be going to nursing school starting next week. So, we all threw him a fiesta and there were lots of kids for Janie to play with that afternoon. Here she is going up and down the stairs with Liem.
Janie had her dinner next to Baby Henry in the backyard.
We had a pinata and Janie only took one swing at it.
Uncle Chris took that last shots to bust it open and all the kids collected their loot. Janie went home with a whistle and Smarties.
What a fun party and a great way to spend a warm Friday evening in Oakland!
Oakland
Janie went to a baby shower with Mama today in Oakland and there were plenty of toys and kids there! Auntie Felicia had a patio downstairs where Janie played in the sandbox with Mako.
Lunch was delicious but the vanilla ice cream for dessert was even better!
Henry and Janie bonded over the Sesame Street apartment toy. These urban babies totally got it.
3rd Birthday Party
We celebrated Janie’s 3rd birthday today at the Children’s Creativity Museum. It had a Nemo theme and Janie was so happy to see her favorite characters on the cupcakes and balloons.
Before the food arrived, all the kids (and grown-ups) spent time in the museum playing with foam dough.
There was also a craft table where the kids made rockets.
For lunch, we had Hawaiian food, veggies, and fruit. The Spam musubi disappeared in a flash.
After lunch, everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to Janie and she had a funny reaction to what happened after she blew out the candles.

Luckily Auntie Ishya caught the whole thing on video for us.
Janie chose a chocolate cupcake with a Nemo ring on top and had lots of frosting and cake on her face for the rest of the party.
In fact, all the kids LOVED the cake and each had blue frosting all over their faces.
I wasn’t sure if she would able to share the balloons we bought for the party but she did and actually handed some of them out to her friends.
Once the birthday party got packed up, we headed out to the carousel for a couple rides.
To burn off all the sugar, the kids went back inside for some more fun. They all played together on the slide and made a couple videos too.

The slide is green so that you can record yourself with a variety of backgrounds.
I’m amazed that we somehow managed to get all the kids together for a group photo.
Thanks for coming to the party, Friends! Hope you all had just as much fun as we did!!
Oakland evening
Daddy was going to be home late so we stayed in Oakland and took a walk near Lake Merritt with Auntie Teresa and Baby Henry. We had to stop to see the geese and ducks on our way to the playground.
At the playground, Janie and Baby Henry loved the swings.
Janie also played on the slide and Baby Henry watched.
We got back to the car just as it got dark and then headed home in time for dinner.
Baby Hungry’s Party
Baby Hungry (Henry) had his 1st birthday party today.
Janie played with Vivian and lots of cool toys.
She also got some of the carrot cake that Auntie Teresa made for the party. Baby Henry made a big mess.
Auntie Teresa also gave Janie a balloon before heading home.
Lake Merritt
This evening, Janie went to a work celebration at Lake Chalet, which is located right on Lake Merritt in Oakland. On our way over to the restaurant, Janie said “see the water” so we went down to see the lake as the sun was setting. She loved pointing out the birds that were flying by across the water.
“CHEEEEEEESE!”
At the restaurant, Janie and Baby Henry were reunited again and they had a fun time hanging out together. Henry was a little grabby but Janie knows it’s only because he likes her so much.
Janie shared her Hawaiian bread with her pal Henry and then some to Vivian when she arrived a little later.
Vivian shared some of her blueberries too. Boy oh boy…I’m sure some tasty daycare germs were exchanged tonight as well.
Next to us was an ATM machine, which the kids took turns pushing the buttons.
Here’s a picture of the lake and the “circle moon”, according to Little Janie.
