After a weekend with Alice, Janie got first-hand experience in the concept of sharing. Unfortunately, she was not a fan of the activity and quickly learned the meaning and power of saying “MINE!” Well, on our way home from Monterey, we stopped by Keenan’s house for a bit and Janie got a crash course in sharing/taking turns. I think it went ok for the first run-through. I also think Keenan was a bit confused by Janie’s reluctance to share his toys.
Toddlers galore!
Janie went to Alameda this afternoon to celebrate Uncle Jimmy’s birthday. They had lots of yummy Hawaiian food!
It was at their house and she loved sitting in all of Zoe’s kid-size chairs. Here she is lounging in the kiddie couch eating her asparagus.
She also relaxed in the chair later in the evening. It looks so comfy. Mommy and Daddy might have to order one of these for her on Amazon soon.
Janie and Keenan were reunited after their week-long vacation in Hawaii.
Out in the backyard, there was a kid-sized picnic table and BUBBLES!!
Zoe also has a golf set that Janie like pushing around all afternoon.
There were so many toddlers to play with including Noah, the youngest of the bunch, who is only 15 months but kept up really well.
Janie also got to hang out with a doggie that also came to the party. Happy Girl is enjoying some lemonade outside with a dog. How much better can this party get?!
At the end of the party after everyone had gone home, we were treated to the Janie and Zoe Show complete with Itsy Bitsy and the ABC Song.
Happy Birthday, Uncle Jimmy!
heading home
On the shuttle, Janie was too tired to look out the window.
In fact, she fell asleep sitting up…just like her mommy tends to do.
At the airport, we had some lunch. Janie got more noodles and some veggies too!
Keenan is riding on the same plane again. Fun!
Janie did a great job on the flight home. Having her own seat really helped.
Unfortunately, she had a diaper malfunction and a little tummy trouble mid-way through the flight so we had to change her clothes. Luckily, she was fine for the last couple hours and even took a nice long nap too.
Waikiki Aquarium
After breakfast, Janie and Keenan met up at the aquarium. It has been 21 months since we brought her here the first time and it was fun to see how much she’s changed and grown.
It was fun to see her exploring the grounds on foot.
This kid looks so grown-up sometimes.
She found her pockets and strolled around while we waited for Keenan to arrive.
These kids had fun causing trouble together. Monkey see, Monkey do, right?!
Afterward, we had snack time on the lawn under the shade. Keenan shared his tasty goldfish crackers. How appropriate.
Meanwhile, Daddy and Uncle Kevin went to Rainbow Drive-in to pick up lunch.
Janie took a long nap in the stroller while the rest of us ate at the park.
Auntie Yoon’s Wedding
In the afternoon, we walked to the Hale Koa Hotel and hopped on a shuttle bus that took us to the ceremony. Janie fell asleep on the walk over and continued to sleep on Daddy’s lap. All that fun this morning must have wiped her out.
Once we arrived at the Country Club, she woke up refreshed and ready to play.
She even posed for a few photos.
The ceremony was very short and she watched it from Daddy’s shoulders.
Afterward, they served punch and she got to have some. Keenan looks like he was waiting for his turn to sip.
Buddy Keenan was there and after sharing a hug, they jumped and ran around until the bus returned to take us back to the wedding hotel.
Take a look at her jumping!
These two had such a fun time together.
Back on the bus, she was wide awake to take in all the sights.
She had fun sitting next to Daddy and was surprised to find Mommy behind her.
There was so much to see!!
Back at the hotel, she got to say “hello” to Auntie Yoon.
That bouquet is heavy!
We all had a snack by the beach and Janie got some of Auntie Krissy’s fries.
Andrew tried to share his oatmeal.
He didn’t look too happy with the little spy standing behind him.
For the reception/dinner, Auntie Yoon made arrangements for a nanny to watch Janie, Keenan, and Andrew. She slept the whole time and even when we brought her downstairs at 9:00. She woke up when the reception was all over so she was able to change into her pjs. This photo (above) is Janie hitching a ride back to the hotel with Daddy.
Magic Island
Auntie Yoon threw a big BBQ today. Janie slept on our walk to Ala Moana Beach Park and woke up in time to play with everyone.
We also had a breakthrough today at Magic Island Beach. Janie actually played in the water and sand and enjoyed it!
This girl was just loving the water and sand.
This makes Mommy so happy.
Lunch included lots of noodles and Portuguese sausage.
She also played with Keenan and Andrew.
Later that evening, Janie slept through the Post-BBQ/Pre-Wedding Celebration at Uncle Bo’s but woke up for a little karaoke. When she couldn’t take the noise anymore, she looked at me and said “all done”. We were home by 11:30.
Holiday Party
Janie threw a Holiday Party for her pals tonight. Here she is sharing her toys with Jack, Reese, and Liam.
Keenan also joined in on the fun.
Then it was time for dinner. All the kids had Daddy’s tasty pasta with meat sauce. She and Keenan had fun eating together in their dualing highchairs.
Zoe showed up later and joined the toddler table.
So cute!
Afterward, they enjoyed more playtime.

After the kids went home, Janie stayed up and partied a little more. She and Uncle Victor had a little Street Fighter match. I think she’s ready to n be Chun-Li for Halloween next year.
Zoe’s Birthday Party
Janie went to Zoe’s 1st Birthday Party today.
There were LOTS of kids there but she sat next to her buddy Keenan during lunchtime.
At one point, she shared her cereal puffs with him and he liked them.
Janie also got her first taste of red velvet cake.
She also got her hands on a balloon.
She was a little confused when it was tied to her wrist.
Here she is with her new friend Athena. We forgot to get a photo of Janie and Zoe together but if you look at the top right corner of this photo, you can see the birthday girl in her fancy red shoes.
Bay Area Birthday Bash
As if two parties wasn’t enough, Janie had one more birthday party today with her Bay Area friends and family. So many of her little friends came to celebrate!
Second cousins Theo and Sadie came up all the way from San Jose.
She had her afternoon snack with buddy Keenan and shared her sweet potato with him.
The cheeksters shared some puffs before going back to playing.
Jack helped Janie blow out her birthday candle.

Janie thoroughly enjoyed her cupcake!
OH BOY!
What a fun mess she made!!
She had fun with all her uncles and aunties. Uncle Ryan is funny.
Aw…so sweet. She gave a sideways huggy hug to Auntie Stephanie.
Buddy Rowan made an appearance and seemed to enjoy the cake too.
Zoe brought her folks, Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Eleen, to the party.
Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia also stopped by at the end of the party.
Look at all the presents she received today. What a lucky girl.
Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us!
Keenan
Janie met another friend today at Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia’s apartment.
He’s a little over 2 months younger and Janie showed him her toys. Very cute.
