When I think the kids can’t stand each other, I see this. This is what love looks like in the days of COVID-19.
Home All Day
This is the new normal for us. No longer are we spending all day going from one activity to another. In fact, the kids have not been in the car much these past two weeks. Today, we cooked, we played games, and we cleaned. The kids love being home and not having to go to swim, kung fu, and soccer all day. Let’s see how much longer before they get bored.
Shelter-in-Place
With everyone else was “sheltering in place”, Peanut was one of 6 kids in his class today. They also got to open some new toys and games.
Janie had her first Zoom meeting at 12:00 with her classmates and teacher. She wrote a note to Mama that said “We had a meeting with my classmates and Ms. Bliss on the computer. It was so so fun. William, Noah, Ben, Mila, Kazu, AJ, Roman, and Alina were there.”
To-Dos
Janie was a little stressed out this evening. She was tired and ready to go to sleep but realized she had not gotten ready for school tomorrow. As she was sighing and writing out her list on the fridge, Mama offered to help with her to-do list. She graciously accepted and added a little note at the bottom. So sweet.
Free Time
This is a note from a kid who might be over-scheduled. She was so happy to have a day free of any activities or homework.
Tiny Notes
Janie left these tiny notes for Dada on his desk.
Little Notes
On Thursdays, Mama volunteers in Janie’s classroom and leaves notes in her pencil box. It’s funny how Janie dates them and replies back.
Halloween 2019
It’s Halloween and the kids were ready! Here is a drawing that Janie made at school earlier this month.
She also wrote something on the fridge this morning.
This year, they dressed up as kangaroos. These were some super comfy costumes and they got to carry a stuffy in their pouches.
Before the neighborhood started trick-or-treating, we went to the local shopping center to go door to door at the stores.
Then the kids all gathered outside our house and then took off!
Peanut’s buddy, Ethan, joined us again this year.
The neighbor boys, Gavin and Collin, also came along.
We were out until dark and the house lights were all on.
Some houses went all out!!
The kids came home with quite a load of candy this year!
This will have been their 5th year of coordinated outfits. So cute!!!
Checklist
This keeps Janie on task in the mornings after Mama has left for work. She wrote a little note too. 🙂
