New Kicks
We pulled out Janie’s new Vans today for school. They’re size 7.5 and we’ve been waiting for her to grow into them.
I tried to get a photo of her whole outfit but she thought the back side would be better.
So this was the best we could do. The outfit is still cute even on the floor.
Morning Tantrum
This little girl woke up this morning and asked for ice cream. Mama said, “no” and this is what happened for the next 20 minutes. Ridiculous.
city girl adventure
Janie is quickly becoming a city girl. We went out for a shopping adventure today after work involving a toddler, the busy city streets, and no stroller! Janie walked to the bus stop and was good about holding Mommy’s hand, hopped on, had her milk on the bus, and got off without a hitch.
We walked down to City Target to pick up a few things and then walked another block to the Muni station. In the Muni station, she was really good about standing up against the wall while we waited for our train. She also waved to the ones that passed by.
On the train, she knew to hold on but also wanted her snack and wanted to see out the window. We made it out and back in about 90 minutes without any trouble. Our toddler loves living in the city. Public transportation is especially fun.
You did a great job today, KK! It must have taken all the energy out of you. This is how you ended up tonight before bed.
Keys!
Janie turned into a potato in the hallway today. It was because she was taking too long to get to the door so I took the keys from her.
Toddler Tantrum
She’s crying because I won’t let her out of the stroller to run free into the street.
Wah!!
raw corn
Janie saw corn on the kitchen counter and got really excited. It wasn’t cooked yet so Mommy said, “not yet” and this is what we got for about 10 minutes.
It’s hard being a toddler sometimes. I’m going to call this the standing potato.
Potato Phase
I guess we’re officially in the Terrible Twos. It’s supposedly during 12-24 months of age and it’s true. I’ve got an independent, stubborn, opinionated little toddler with a streak for protesting. I’m going to call this the Potato Phase now. She was doing great this evening until it was almost dinner time.
This is what she did after I offered her soup but then told her she had to wait for it to cool. She got mad because I wouldn’t let her drink scalding soup.
Then after dinner, she wanted water and tried to get it herself by climbing on her stool and grabbing everything within arm’s reach. I said, “hold on, let me help” and she melted to the floor once again. This is what she looked like even after she got some water. Oh goody.
Meltdown City
When I got home from work, this is how our evening started. Janie had meltdown after meltdown for every little thing that went wrong for her. It took us three times as long to get from the car to the condo today.
We had a lot of whining, crying, and potato time all evening. She could be coming down with something because she has is a cough and runny nose but luckily no fever yet!!
