After his swim class, he was rewarded with some iPad time. His focus and giant headphones reminded me of photos of Michael Phelps getting ready for his swim races.
Holiday Program
Peanut had his Holiday Program today and while he knew all the songs and we had heard him singing them for the past month, he didn’t sing as enthusiastically as we had hoped. He said it was because he had bit his tongue just before their turn to go on stage.
Thanksgiving 2019
It’s Thanksgiving! Janie made this cool art project at AIK last week. It was perfect for today.
In the morning, the kids sorted cranberries, Janie cut up the apple, and then helped make the cranberry sauce/relish.
She also helped with peeling the carrots and making the gravy with Dada.
Uncle Victor and Auntie Susie came over with Parker and Lil Boom for dinner. Peanut was a little hesitant around his new friend Parker but then warmed up to him quickly.
He helped feed him some puree and then built block towers for him to knock down.
Janie also got some snuggle time with Lil Boom.
We had another fun and tasty Thanksgiving and happy to have part of our SF family back in our home for this holiday.
Crazy Peanut
Here’s his whole class with masks on.
Halloween 2018
It’s Halloween and the kids had a kung fu theme this year.
And here we have Chun Li from Street Fighter.
The kids really embraced their roles and had a lot of fun going trick-or-treating around the neighborhood.
Peanut’s buddy Ethan also joined us and they all came home with lots of loot.
Here’s our house and Gavin’s house all decorated for the evening.
Fired up!
Playground
Janie loves the playground outside and Peanut is becoming just as much of a participant lately.
Here’s his tough guy look on the playground. He’s gonna rule this place soon enough.
He’s always been so confident on the play structure and today he went all the way up and took the big spiral slide on his own.
Mama was more nervous that Peanut.
Return to Soccer
With a long break due to rain cancelations and the holidays, getting back into soccer was really hard for Janie today. A sweet guy (one of the younger coaches) even tried to give her a little extra encouragement the whole time but she wasn’t having any of it. She ended up in tears at the end of the 50 minutes and said “Mama, soccer is no fun”. *sigh*
Also, check out the fog rolling in over the field! And our little girl is the one in white shorts in the middle of the crowd staring right at me with her I-don’t-want-to-do-this glare.

This is just one of many expressions that we get from this guy. This morning, Mirian said he was “very serious” or “mad” while waiting in line for Story Time.
Fishy Fishy
We went to California Academy of Sciences today and met up with Uncle Bang, Rowan, and Isla.
We arrived a bit early so Peanut got to explore the tunnel for the first time.
He would get so excited to see the fish and touch the glass. It must be nice for him to be able to cruise along the exhibits on his own now.

In this video, you can hear his squeals of delight.
At lunch, we ate in the patio and Peanut got a nice view of the kids playing while he ate.

After he finished eating, he crawled around on the grass and wasn’t quite sure what his hands and feet were feeling.
The big kids had fun running around together and they posed for a few silly photos too.
