The fire alarm went off in our building this evening and Janie was pretty scared of the siren and the loud announcement overhead in our unit. Our side of the building had to evacuate so Daddy carried her down 8 flights of stairs to the sidewalk. She got to see the firetruck all lit up with their supplies hanging out but was a little too stunned to enjoy any of it. Luckily it was just a false alarm (as usual) and we were back upstairs in just 15 minutes. When we got back home, I asked her “were you scared?” and she replied “uh, yeah”. She also said, “the people are not talking anymore”.

Lots of Fish

We went to the aquarium again today and Janie really enjoyed watching the scuba divers feed the fish and clean the glass.

Look at how serious she was during the presentation.

She was also brave enough to touch the starfish twice today.

She also went through this tunnel on her own for the first time. I don’t know why she’s always been so scared of it until now.

Here we are under the water dome at the end of the tunnel.

Janie met a banana slug today and said “so gross”.

For lunch she had carrots and a full container of hummus.

On our way back to the car, we walked through the Music Concourse where she found the park benches entertaining. She insisted on trying each one out for the perfect napping spot.

At one point, she said “I need a pillow!”

so much to do

At the Children’s Creativity Museum, there’s so much to do. Mirian took our camera on their usual Wednesday trip to the museum and captured all the action. Janie’s pretty serious about all her play time there. She barely cracks a smile in all these photos and videos.

I have no idea why she’s so stone-faced. It’s kind of funny.

Monday morning

On Monday morning, Ama had to go back to work. Janie was up early enough to give her a big hug and hang out for a bit before she left.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t in a photo-taking mood so this was the best picture we could get that morning.

More fun with Alice

On Sunday afternoon, Janie went back to the Magical House to play with Alice.

They had a fabulous tea party together.

Pouring tea is serious business. Janie does NOT mess around.

When Uncle Johnny came back from basketball, he joined the party.

The tea was so good that Uncle Johnny stayed for another round.

Carousel

The carousel is back in action after they closed it for renovation this past year. We also renewed our membership to the Creativity Museum with a special offer that gave us an upgrade for free carousel rides for a year! So, Janie went back today with Mimi and was a little scared at first but then had a good time after the second time around.
