Goodbye Party

We went to Uncle Jimmy’s house to not only watch the Super Bowl but to also wish Uncle Victor, Auntie Susie, and Baby Parker a farewell. They’re moving to Austin, TX in a couple weeks and sad to see them go.

Peanut did such as great job entertaining Parker during the party. We got some really good giggles out of him.

We will miss you all! Can’t wait to visit!

Day in the City

It’s become a tradition for us to take a trip to the Ferry Plaza to buy bread for leftover turkey sandwiches so that’s what we did! Since we live in Alameda now, we take the ferry, which makes the trip even more fun.

We also lucked out with gorgeous weather after a day of rain yesterday.

At the bookstore, we found a plush of the bridge twins that are on Janie’s San Francisco t-shirt.

For lunch, we went to Hog Island Oyster Company and Janie was so happy to have her pick of the oysters.

Peanut also got his favorite grilled squid salad, which he calls “squid jerky”.

Uncle Victor forgot his hat at our house last night so they met up with us after lunch. Janie got to walk Lil Boom on his leash for the afternoon.

We stopped for treats and drinks at the Hyatt and saw all the pretty holiday decorations.

By the late afternoon, we had to head back to Alameda so the kids could take their swim lessons.

Luckily, Peanut managed to catch a quick cat nap on the ferry ride over too.

Super Bowl

IMG_9596

We watched the Super Bowl at Uncle Victor and Auntie Susie’s house.  It was nice to not have to leave the building today.  Janie walked over to the other side of the building on her own and carried her Legos in her owl backpack without any protest.  We’ve had a breakthrough!

She had a front-row seat at the big TV and ate some BBQ chicken, Korean spicy pork, and carrot sticks.

She hung out with Uncle Victor and they clinked their drinks over and over again.

This empty water bottle kept her occupied up until half-time.

The last half was not very exciting so the Legos came out.

Auntie Susie helped her stack all 26 letter blocks.

When it was time for bed, Janie packed up her things, let me put the backpack back on, and she said goodbye to everyone like a big girl.  She even gave Uncle and Auntie a kiss kiss at the door.  Thanks for having us over!

First Thanksgiving

Janie started solids just in time for her first Thanksgiving and joined the grown-ups at the table.  Ankong helped feed her and she enjoyed her very own turkey and sweet potato.

Ama and Ankong also gave her a new toy that moves and makes music every time you touch it.  It’ll be perfect for play time on the floor.

Uncle Victor and Auntie Susie also came over for dinner and hung out with her on the floor.

Janie is so loved and we have so much to be thankful for!
