We had a BBQ at Uncle Johnny’s house for July 4th this year. The kids played on the bounce house and in the tents. We also grilled and roasted marshmallows before the fireworks started at Artesia Park, Cerritos High School, and throughout the neighborhoods.
A Day with Uncle
While Mama went back to work, the kids got some worksheets done in the morning while Dada and Uncle Johnny did some work.
In the afternoon, they met up with Auntie Jia for a little Camp Snoopy at Knott’s. Since we were going to live so close to the park, we got a season pass for the whole family and it’s already getting some use!
Father’s Day Dinner
We celebrated Father’s Day a day early at the Old Fish House. They had outdoor dining with a live band.
Pool Party
We celebrated Toni and Thomas’ birthdays today at the pool and at their house. It’s so fun to be with the cousins again!
Laguna Beach
We took the kids to Laguna Beach to check out the tidepools today.
Safari Party
We celebrated Janie’s 9th birthday at Auntie Jia’s house today. Auntie Jia and the twins decorated their house so nicely!
It was a safari theme and the boys enjoyed playing with their binoculars.
Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!!
Rest from the Sun
Today was a rest day from the sun. It was also Toni and Thomas’ last day in Hawaii.
On our walk to the food court, we saw a Mama duck and her ducklings going for a walk too.
The kids love going up and down this escalator at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center.
At the food court, we got a special treat at Kokoro Cafe. It’s called a Shaka-Boom: waffle shaka filled with chocolate sauce and topped with Dole Whip and rainbow sprinkles. Yum!
We also spent the afternoon in our room. The kids had a fun time together.
For dinner, we went to another food court and got one last family photo together before Toni and Thomas left for the airport.
Kids Table
With Hawaii’s strict rules about having no more than 5 people at a table, we’ve been giving the kids their own table when we are all together. They did a great job staying entertained and also managed to eat most of their food.
International Marketplace
The International Marketplace looks a lot different from before the swanky remodel but the kids enjoyed exploring it anyway.
Here is one of the original banyan trees that was kept at the property.
The boys also gave this crazy car a “test drive”.
Evening in Waikiki
This evening, we went out for shave ice at Island Vintage just outside our hotel. We also hung out in Toni and Thomas’ hotel room for a bit.
