The kids spent some time building and playing with the dinosaurs that Peanut got for Christmas. We love these kind of toys!!
Ramen
By the time we arrived in Waikiki, everyone was super hungry. Our first meal was at Ramen Nakamura, one of Dada’s favorite spots. The soup, noodles, gyoza, and fried rice were so yummy.
Flying to Hawaii!
This morning, we got up early, took the bus to the airport, and hopped on a plane to Hawaii! The kids played on their iPads and did some homework too.
Peanut practiced writing his name and drew a picture of Dada.
Peanut took a nice long nap while Janie played her Pokemon game.
The flight took almost 6 hours but the kids did great!
At the airport, Dada and Janie went to get the rental car while Peanut and Mama picked up the stroller and carseat from baggage claim. Peanut found a pay phone and asked “what’s that?!”
We’re finally ready to start our vacation!!

Cranberry Cooking
The pretend cooking continued this morning with the leftover cranberries. There was some intense menu planning and trying out new recipes.

Pumpkin Pie
Janie made pumpkin pie today! She read the instructions on the can and had a little help with measuring and pouring.
Here is the pie when it was all done. It tasted yummy too!
Pasta e Fagioli
Janie wanted to make dinner so she cut up the veggies for pasta and bean soup. We forgot to take a photo of the final product but it was yummy!
More cooking
Mama is away on a trip this weekend so Janie helped Dada make lunch today. She learned how to use a real knife and did a great job prepping all the veggies for chow mein.
Cooking
Mama came home from work this evening and found Janie in the kitchen with Dada. When I asked “What are you doing?”, she answered “Oh, just sauteing onions”.
She helped make dinner tonight and the Japanese curry was delicious!
