Janie loves her markers and paper. She’s starting to understand the concept of “drawing a picture” and will often say it while she’s doodling. Today she tried to draw a person and seems to know where all the parts go.
Home with Mommy
Mirian had a doctor’s appointment today so Mommy stayed home today.
In the morning, we had to pick up milk and got some breakfast on the way home.
Later in the morning, Janie got to color and draw on a giant sheet of paper.
She did a really good job covering the whole thing. Now it’s up on our wall for everyone to see.
Later in the evening, she decided to have naptime on the floor with her friends. She’s really into covering them with the blanket and “reading” to them. She even says “good night” in this video.
green frog
This girl is really understanding the whole concept of coloring inside the lines.
barbeque
Janie went to Auntie Jia and Uncle Jason’s house for a BBQ today. Their street was closed for all the kids to play so Janie took full advantage and got to ride her scooter in the street. Weeeeee!!
Daddy and Uncle cooked up some yummy skewers on the balcony.
Janie also got to play on Auntie’s chalkboard.
This kid really knows how to party.
Fishing
We have this Fishing Puzzle that seems too difficult for a two-year-old but apparently Janie is starting to figure it out. I couldn’t believe my eyes when she was able to match the puzzle piece to just the shape on the board without a picture to match. She’s also loving the magnetic fishing aspect of the toy. In the video, you can hear her say her version of “help me”, which is more like “help you”. I’ve been trying to teach her to say that instead of crying or getting frustrated.
We also have a similar puzzle with cars and it’s a bit harder. However, it’s still fun to find the colors and numbers on the cars for now.
coloring, counting, and drawing
monkey
Here is Janie’s latest coloring page. It’s a monkey (aka “badjoo” to her). Look at how she tried to color inside the monkey’s right arm. Cool.
drag and drop
I found this cute puzzle app before our trip to Hawaii. Over a couple days, this kid figured out the skill of drag and drop along with completing each puzzle on her own. Some people poo-poo screen time but when it’s done in moderation and with supervision, kids learn some pretty cool things.
Coloring Page
I gave Janie a picture to color today and this is what she did. Not bad, huh?!

I got this bucket of blocks for free at Toys R Us and it was the best $0 I ever spent. This girl is groovin’ now!
