The car is all packed up and ready to go! We are heading to Butano State Park for a weekend of camping!
On our way there, we stopped at the Safeway in Half Moon Bay to pick up supplies.
We were the first family to arrive and there was plenty of sunlight for pitching the tent and setting up. Janie was so happy to be outdoors and immediately started collecting sticks.
She also said, “So many leaves! I have to clean it up!” I think she was missing the point of being outside in nature.
We brought a bucket and shovel for her and she had fun gathering tree cones and rocks.
Here’s was her initial collection.
The tent was a fun place to play and hide. We called this our “camping house”.
When the tent was set-up, we put out the chairs and did some relaxing.
We brought the “safari adventure kit” that Auntie Teresa gave her and she got started playing her kazoo to call out the animals.
Janie was ready for a weekend of adventure in her new camping jacket and shoes. Mama found them in the gently used section of a children’s store near her work. They were perfect for this weekend!
